3 Days in Sojourn

📍 Mengwi, Bali

Tucked away from the busyness of Bali, Sojourn is a welcome exhale.

Just far enough from the buzz of Canggu to offer real stillness, yet close enough to access amazing coffee, groceries, and surf via a quick scooter ride. Sojourn is a retreat that doesn’t isolate you, instead, shields you from the chaos, and it’s the kind of place that makes you wonder why you didn’t book it for longer.

The villa itself strikes a perfect balance between minimal and cozy. You can tell it’s been designed with intention because it feels inspiring. Every touchpoint, from the quality of the robes to the crisp bed linen and thick, hotel-level towels, feels considered.

The kitchen is actually functional (a rare win), the living space is generous, and the whole villa is flooded with that beautiful natural Bali light. Everything is in harmony with the elements.

As a business owner, holidays are always sprinkled with a little bit of work so a functional space to do so is incredibly important. Sojourn couldn’t have been a better base. The big blue table offered enough space to spread out and be my daytime work zone and by the evening, our night time dining spot.

Moving onto the couch at night to get comfy and peruse the many streaming platforms they had set up on the TV felt just like home and was a welcome distraction when bali belly hit me on the second night (more on that later).

And then of course, the pool. Clean, private and surrounded by giant palms and greenery that created an oasis for us every time we needed respite from the heat or a morning plunge. Being able to relax by the pool, naked, with complete privacy was big for us as the beach wasn’t close enough for quick heat-relief swims. And of course, being on holiday with your partner, privacy is necessary.

Whether you're in Bali to work, rest, or just press pause for a while, Sojourn is the kind of place that meets you where you are, and gently elevates the whole experience.

Thoughtfully designed, perfectly located, and effortlessly comfortable, it’s one of those rare stays that feels like a secret worth keeping… but also too good not to share.
